The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion board aimed to connect with local communities and support local businesses and residents. Our team was given the exciting task of developing the campaign. I proposed a concept that utilized the Walmart logo, the Spark, as an action word. We created taglines such as “We see your Spark,” “Where I Spark,” and “Take me to where your Spark is” for various social media, merchandise, and out-of-home advertising. Managers can feature their employees on social platforms and share their favorite local hangouts. Associates can personalize their vests with pins to support beloved local spots. Instagram and Snapchat filters also allow community members to showcase where they Spark.
